Lets get started!

Now that you have decided to become vegan and live a lifstyle that will give you the most optimal health where you will feel better, have more energy, recover faster from workouts, lose weight, and prevent sickness and disease, here are some great starting points for you to think about.  Once you have contacted me as your new wellness and nutrition coach, we will work out a more detailed program that specifically fits your needs to become successful throughout your life. 

​Below are a few general steps that I will be teaching you in my program. Each one will be discussed and applied to your lifesylte in more detail.  By the end of this program you will feel like a new person.  Remember that, "we are what we eat!"

 

Food today

The reality of your food industry today and why it is unhealthy.  the problem with what the government agencies are saying about diet. over whelmed with fad diets, thousands of books, meal replacement plans, supplements and why they can do more harm than good and why a single synthetic nutrient is not a replacement for whole foods, and infomercials telling you what is healhty. The thousands of GRAS food chemicals in our food.  How to read confusing food labels. 

What does it mean to be vegan?

overlooking the sterotypical image of vegans.  what is the difference between vegan and whole foods.  Because the food industry is jumping on the vegan band wagon there are a lot of foods that claim to be vegan but are still processed and unhealthy.  We will look at what to look for in making the best choices. Look at the vitamins, minerals and nutrients found in whole foods that make us healthy and what the health benefits are in consuming these foods. 

What goes into our foods today

Our food industry has changed dramatically over the past several decades. Food today are reguled by the USDA and FDA.  We will look at what they are about and why they dont always protect us.  I will educate you on pesticdes, GMO's, GRAS food chemicals, factory farms, pesticides, herbicides, fortified, enriched, refined, and cheap ingredients. What is all of this doing to our health?  No nutritioanl value on these foods.

How to get started 

Once we have learned about the industry you are now ready to start applying this to how you will make food choices.  learn to overcome social pressures and challenges. Eating out and mange time to cook meals from scratch at home. What to look for and ask for at restaurants. Prepare for family gatherings and holidays. You will learn shopping lists and give your kitchen cabnets a make over filling then with essentials, shoping at farmers markets, and how to read food labels. How to answer questions people will have and not to be overwhelmed with your new lifestyle. Should you buy organic and why is there an explosion of gluten free products and what is the allergy?

Recipes and making any dish vegan

I will provide you with simple and delicious recipes.  We will figure out how to dedicate a time where you can make your meals in bulk. How to make diary and egg alternatives with other foods to make delicious healhty deserts, sauces, dips and condiments such as oil free salad dressings and mayo using foods such as, cashews, avacado, squash, banana, and much more. You will be given a list of what foods are in season and how to read those little numbers stuck on produce stickers. 

Resources to look for

At the end of the program, you will have a list of resources to reference.  You will have a list of books, web sites, and documentaries.  I will include web sites to where you can go for restaurants all over the country and websites to find every farmers market in every city avaialbe. 

We will track your progress together and answer any quesitons or concerns you may have along the way. My goal is to see YOU succeed and become healthy for a lifetime! 

Are suppliments ok?

I will educate you on what suppliments are and how they got started. Are they nessecary and what are the dangers of them.  Who regulates them and what is acutally in them and why they dont work.  What is considered a suppliment and how they can come in all kinds of products and forms. Why they are not better than consuming whole foods.
